ISO Rating-
Our department operates with an ISO Class 4 Public Protection Classification based on water shuttle operations rather than proximity to fire hydrants. This means our firefighters must establish and maintain a continuous water supply using tankers during structure fires. Unlike hydrant operations, a water shuttle typically requires four to five additional firefighters to operate safely and effectively. This ISO rating provides an estimated $3.5 million in annual property insurance savings for residents and businesses throughout our service area. Because our classification is based on water shuttle capability, these savings benefit the entire community—not just those located within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant.
