The Holtville/Slapout Fire Department had training this week with volunteer firefighters from the Eclectic and Deatsville fire departments.
We had Dump Tank training. Our Dump Tank can hold 2500 gallons of water and our two tankers can shuttle the water. While one tanker is dumping water, the other tanker is filling up. If a fire hydrant is too far away from a fire, we use this training and equipment to put the fire out.
This training and equipment helps our fire department receive a better rating which in turn helps get lower Insurance rates for our community.
